Colorful Colorado!
After 6 hours of driving, we are finally in Colorado!I love me some Colorado! I always get a kick out of our state's welcome sign that boldly announces "Colorful Colorado" which is printed across a very brown sign.
Parts of our drives were in this heavy whiteout snow, while others involved ice. It's been close to 3 years since I have had a car ride that involved a snow/ice covered interstate.
No worries, Emmett slept peacefully almost the whole time in the back seat.
Or in Nate's arms while giving me the side eye.
We're staying at the lovely Cheyenne Mountain Resort, which is at the southern most end of Colorado Springs and tucked up against the Rockey Mountains. We're only here a night before we move more north, but we are already enjoying our stay. A major bonus is that the hotel is dog friendly and has one of the cheapest pet rates in town (a $35 one time fee instead of the $50-75 we were seeing at other places).

The wonderful welcome gift the hotel gave us when we checked in! How welcoming is that? The little red square is a few waste baggies. They also have a area just for dogs to play and waste stations all over the grounds!

We've only been here for a little while, but I am looking forward for the rest of the week. No worries...I will blog when I have time! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Go Team USA hockey!
Do you ever travel with pets? Have you ever been to a hotel that really goes above and beyond for you and your pet?
Must. resist. urge. to. steal. dog.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your hotel looks amazing! More pics please :)
ReplyDeleteI used to travel with my teacup Maltese, she was so easy--just stick in a bag and take on the plane! LOL.
ZOMG. Your dog is so frickin cute! He looks so, so silky I want to reach through the screen and pet him!
ReplyDeleteLove the thoughtful welcome present too.
I have a dog crush and it's heavy!
ReplyDeleteHis freckles are adorable and he is always so properly groomed. How often do you get his hair cut (if I may ask)? Do you do it yourself or take him to a groomer?
Andi: I'll work on getting more pictures up from the hotel.
ReplyDeleteAnon: We get Emmett groomed every 2-3 months depending on how his fur grows. Though we do get him trimmed more frequently in the summer when it is hot. We try to keep his feathers to a minimum. Emmett gets all of his hair cuts at a groomer, I don't think I could cut his hair myself without a lot of issues!
