Decor: My shimmering wall
My first real blog post was about my unnatural love of Ralph Lauren's Regent Metallic. I first found this paint about 4 years ago and got my chance to use it when I bought my house in Colorado. I had an odd wall/half wall that separated my living/dinning room from my kitchen. I wanted to do a focal wall and that odd wall was the perfect choice. On top of that I decided to do a *striped wall.My colors of choice were "Golden Light" and "Bronze Statue". All you have to do is buy a special roller brush and you're good to go. It's a much easier metallic application then a lot of the others out on the market. Also my stripes are two different sizes (2 inches and 3 inches).
I'm really pleased with the outcome and I think it was such a great way to add beautiful color to the wall. The huge plus for me is that it shimmers. It's not over the top by any means. At night it has a warm glow to it.
Side note; I no longer live in the house, I rent it to a friend.
The full wall, though you can see a part of the half wall to the right.
Up close, with direct sunlight hitting it.
Close up, no direct sunlight (with flash).
*Word of warning, a striped wall done by yourself is not easy. You need to have patience...a lot of it.
I love stripped walls!
ReplyDeleteFinally, and you will need to use all your self control for this tip, let the chutney mature before you eat it. Whilst you could put it away for a month or two, all my best tasting chutneys have been stored for 6-18 months before opening. It really does improve the maturity and flavor of the chutney.
